Zoey-isms

I think this is going to be the new thing every week to tell you about our little Zoey!

Let's start off with welcome to the terrible two's.  If you know Zoey she isn't really terrible she is a happy go lucky girl.  Well that being said we made her a toy room downstairs now that she is a pro at going up and down the stairs. yes she is now trying to down the stairs like mommy and daddy not scooting on the butt anymore.  Well this morning I was in my room still making the bed and what not i heard her go down the stairs i was okay with that.  When I went down to see what she was playing with she may have found her way into my scrapbooking/craft/office room.  Well mom has all these new toys and she dumped out two containers of different color paper brads. But at the end of the day which it is I just think I'm just glad one did not go up her nose.

Today she did get a new pair of her very own flip flops (hot pink) she saw them and said "SHOE" she absolutely loves shoes she plays with any shoe she can find mom/dad/cousins and it just goes on.  Time for another little story.  The person that watches Zoey her name is Cake (it suits her i don't know if it is a nickname or not).  I went to drop Zoey off and Cake was telling me that she had found Zoey's socks in the van and she couldn't figure out how that happened because she had her shoes on both times they had got her out of the van.  Well our little girl loves shoes so much she knows how to take them off and put them back on the right feet. She does this a lot with me when we are going out she gets bored and takes on and off her shoes while i'm driving and yells shoe at me.  Well she must have been really quiet and not wanting to say shoe because she probably didn't want to get the socks back on her.

Zoey-isms
  • Let it go (thanks frozen)
  • Go (she yells it at us when we are in her toy room)
  • Bless You (for coughing we are working on after the sneeze)
  • Here you go
  • Thank You (that isn't new she has been saying that since she was 1 but don't want to forget that is her favorite thing to say)
  • she also is trying to learn the song want to build a snowman (once again thanks Frozen)
  • she can count up to three ONE TWO THREE (she is now starting to count her toys)
  • all (for ball that is Zoey language)
  • flicking the light switch on and off (dad's pet peeve)
  • she can throw away her own stinky diaper away and puts her clothes in the dirty laundry and she hasn't thrown her clothes away yet and we hand her both things to go and do at the same time.
  • she loves to put dishes in the sink.  If you put something down on her plate while you are prepping food and you take it off and put it on another plate even if she has the same thing still on her plate she will come and take it from me.
  • she knows all the animal sounds but she won't make them unless you ask her you have to say what does the dog say and than she will make the noise.  I did hand her a play horse the other day and she did neigh.
  • when it is time to leave peoples houses be on the lookout she thinks you have to kiss everyone before leaving.
  • the other day I asked her what i had in my hand it was a flower so I said can you say flower and perfectly clear she said Flower than ran off.
That is it for now I can think of so many things but than if i write them all i might be here writing for hours!

I hope everyone has had a good little chuckle because everyday this little girl makes her mommy and daddy so happy!

Zoey Sayings

I can't believe it my little baby is 2 years old.  For her birthday we took her bowling and she LOVED it!!!  Zoey would say Yay!!! and clap after she has pushed the bowling ball down the ramp.  For her first time bowling she scored in the 60's we have a bowling champ in the making.  Brandon and I went bowling for our first date and I scored a whole whopping 27 points! So I'm so proud of our little girl being able to score so well for her first time.

Well I just wanted to write down some of Zoey-isms! Before we forget them...

  • Where is she? (she covers her mouth when she says it)
  • There she is!
  • Where's dada, daddy?
  • she makes a mess... and than starts to sing Clean up Clean up.
  • she loves to pull out one wet wipe and clean up her dolls because they are stinky stinky stinky!
  • mama you ok?
  • Bubble Yuppies (bubble guppies), Bubble puppy
  • shoe
  • singing abc's and she loves to say QRZ!
  • walking around the house stomping saying QRZ!
  • eke for our dog Zeke
  • keke is both of our cats names even though this morning she was calling Baylee baby!
  • bye bye (she loves to sing a goodbye song)
We are so amazed with our little girl she is so smart even though she speaks in her Zoey language but I want her to keep it because it amazes me how much I understand her language.

Almost a BIG kid now... But not to Big yet!

Almost almost almost there just a little bit more and maybe maybe a jump and than I can reach it!

Brandon turned 27! He is almost grown up! He has a family, a house, three pets, and a big kid job!  I'm so proud of him he truly is an amazing Big Kid!  He is an amazing husband and a wonderful daddy to Zoey! Brandon is very busy lately and it is nice sometimes to just see him get down on the ground and play with blocks with Zoey or any toy with her.  That is where the Big Kid comes in he will play with Zoey and get the biggest smile on his face. Happy Birthday Honey!

Zoey showed me her new trick she learned on Friday! Zoey did it not just once but three times!!! She learned how to climb out of her crib! Zoey climbed out on Thursday but I thought it was just a fluke.  Oh by the way her room wasn't baby proofed her clothes and blankets were everywhere! We put her down for bed and she fell asleep just fine in her crib.  I was expecting on Friday morning to be opening the door and she would be outside her crib! nope! in her crib waiting for me.  So I thought okay yesterday was a fluke! all until it was nap time and she showed me she knew how to climb out as soon as I put her in her crib. in fact she let me pull out my phone and record it. (posted on FB) Zoey didn't get a nap in the morning but i got some cuddles for a little while! Friday night she fell asleep in her crib and didn't climb out for daddy.  Saturday I was determined we were going to baby proof her dresser and change her crib to the toddler bed. I was in the room after Brandon had just baby proofed the dresser I went to change the crib to the toddler bed I was sad but happy at the same time my baby is no longer a baby needing the safety of a crib.  As the front piece of her crib came off I was also a little worried. I hadn't read anything on switching from crib to the toddler bed. (i didn't know what i was going to have to do teach her this is where she still sleeps)  I had to call Brandon in to do the last part because I was worried about the little piece of wood they give that turns it to the toddler bed it just makes the crib look like a bed no railing... the mattress is pretty low to the ground but still my baby can fall out of the bed.  Brandon had to reassure me that she would be okay. Zoey was locked out of her room all morning and by that time she was getting pretty upset because she could hear her toys going off (oops accidentally hitting them).  Mommy and Daddy had shut the door just to play with her toys! We finished getting her bed all made and than let her in she looked around her room for a minute than ran over to her toy and that is when she saw that she could climb up on her bed yes she stood on the mattress and looked confused she went to the sides and dropped one of her toys over than sat down and scooted off to get it. Nap time came mommy was mean again but I took out all of her toys so that she knew she needed to climb in bed and take a nap.  She cried for a minute when I closed the door and than silence I went to check on her she was taking her blankets over to her chair trying to climb on the chair in her room than ran around to every corner in her room. Zoey again didn't take another morning nap to excited to be FREE in her room.  But she did take an afternoon nap and she cried a little but not a lot.  Zoey slept through the night last night and this morning she just played in her room until i went in to get her and she ran out no cuddles that she gives me in the morning just off to find more toys to play with.  Tonight when I got home I went in to check on her and she was fast asleep cuddled under her blankets.  When did my little 5 pound baby turn into this big girl who doesn't need a rail on her bed? Zoey is starting to turn into a TODDLER! I can't believe how big she has got stop growing baby 20 months is old enough for you!

just living life

I have been lost to the blogging world for awhile now... I have picked up some new hobbies like playing with Zoey chasing her while she runs.  I also have started scrapbooking with real pictures, paper, embellishments (the swag) and all that.  I love it!  I feel so at peace when I'm listening to music and creating the pages that one day will make up a complete scrapbook for Zoey. I'm going to actually start back tracking and try to make a scrapbook for Brandon and I good thing I did keep this blog. It probably helps that I have a couple of tables that I have set up just for my scrapbooking makes it much easier.  I have a little place set up for Zoey so she can color and play in my room while I'm trying to complete some pages.  I love it!

I can't believe that summer is almost over we did a couple of things like a fourth of July bbq with my family it was simple and lots of fun.  We also went up to a bbq up in Ogden with my friends from my childhood and watched lots and lots of fireworks. We went to the splash pad a couple of times. Zoey started going to daycare and she loves it! Zoey and Brandon have been able to go over on Sundays to his parents house and enjoy family time.  I have been able to go a couple of times while the whole family is there.  We just had the Heaps annual rib fest and it was super yummy.  Zoey loved eating her first rib she kept going up to the table that the ribs were on grabbing one and running off. Zoey got one of the spicy ones and after taking a bite she dropped it on the ground and started wiping her tongue with her hand.  Zoey loved playing with her cousins she would push them around on the tricycle and than be a little dare devil and stand on it.  The kids found a dolly and started taking turns getting pushed around on it.  Zoey watched them and when they were done playing Zoey went and sat on it and daddy pushed her around she loved it!  It was so much fun to be there.

After a year and a half of living in our home we have got up our family wall it is on the stairs wall and I'm so proud of it.  It turned out the way I imagined it. I have finally hung up some pictures in our room and it feels a little bit more like home.  I really want to start painting some walls around my house.  I'm starting to save up for DIY projects. I'm excited! Were hoping with this next years tax return we will have some money to be able to remodel our kitchen.  We are also planning on finally being able to landscape our yard and make a backyard next spring.  I hope so because I would really love to start being able to make this home OUR home the way we see it can be.

Brandon graduated and got a job!!! Brandon is teaching at Providence Hall Charter school up in Herramin.  So far he has been enjoying it.  I'm so proud of him it has taken him 5 years to finally start teaching and it is so nice to see him relaxed and enjoying what he loves to do.

Lexy's 3rd birthday was last Friday.  We were on our way home from visiting her and I was still really missing my little girl.  We stopped at the gas station I went back outside to ask Brandon a question and that is when I saw the most amazing double rainbow that was so clear that you could see the lines of where the colors started you also could see the ends of both sides.  I walked back over to the car and told Brandon to look at the rainbow.  Brandon on the way home looked over at me and said you know that rainbow was special to us right?! of course I knew that but it was so nice to hear Brandon say it. We always see a rainbow on little Lexy's birthday. Rainbows are a special to us.  Lexy wore a rainbow outfit that everyone met her in.  So whenever our family sees rainbows it is usually when we are missing her the most.  We take pictures of them and either text or call that we had just seen a rainbow.  To me when I see a rainbow I know it is a promise of love and that I will never have to loose another baby.  My sister Laura about 6 months ago put a request in for her company they pick one charity a month to donate money by doing a lunch to a charity. My sister put in the request for FlutterBy IzzyJane Foundation.  FlutterBy IzzyJane Foundation is a young charity almost 3 years old.  The couple who started it their first baby was also a stillborn. They started it to help families who would loose their babies also unexpectedly and help out with funeral costs and all that. They also make bracelets that say forever on them one for the baby and one for mom. The first family they helped was a friend of ours. They helped this family out so much and I'm so grateful to them for it.  Well anyways my sister a couple of weeks ago found out that FlutterBy was nominated for the month of August. Than a week later she found out it was going to be on the 23rd Lexy's birthday.  I cried when I saw the post on facebook and I'm still tearing up.  My daughter got to have a pizza party with her aunt on her birthday.  The company raised so much money for them.  My daughter even though she isn't her still has the most amazing influence.  Laura also said she got a call from her friend on the 23rd saying that they just had their little girl and they were going to name her Lilly but when they saw her they said she looks like a little Lexy.  So another little girl born on the same day shares the same name as my precious daughter.  My daughters 3rd birthday was a day of miracles and I'm so happy about that!

anyways that is what has been going on with us.  just wanted to put out a little update for everyone

Zoey {1 Year}

Zoey your story began before daddy and I knew we were pregnant.  When I was pregnant with Lexy about a month before I had her I saw you.  I was handed you and I knew that I waited so long to have you in my arms.  When I called on February 18, 2012 and hearing that they wanted to induce me on the 20th I was overjoyed.  The night before you came I was all full of anxiety and so excited to meet this little girl that I had been waiting for.  February 20 came mommy woke up at 6am to get ready to go to hospital daddy woke up at 6:30 that is when grandma woke up also.  Grandma made us a quick breakfast a boiled egg, toast, and strawberries.  Mommy was so excited she had to make herself eat knowing that today was going to be the day when I would need a good meal.  Daddy and Mommy left grandma and papa's house at 6:50 we got to the hospital at 7am.  It was crazy walking in there and knowing the next time I came out I would have a little girl.  Well the morning came and Aunt Laura, Grandma Margaret and Martha, and Janine had all shown up waiting to meet you.  1:30pm came and that is when everything went by so fast but so slow.  At 2:09pm Daddy and I heard the greatest cry your cry.

Fast forward a year!

You are standing, crawling, walking when you want, talking, and not sleeping through the night yet!  Daddy and I both love to hear you say mama or dada when we walk into your room to get you we love seeing a big smile on your face to start the day off.  We are so blessed to have you as our daughter.  Learning to be a parent was and still is hard.  The many sleepless nights we had when you were a newborn but how the cuddles so made up for this.  Seeing you smile for the first time, watching you just say mama mama over and over in your crib, trying new foods and the face you pull, watching you one morning just start to crawl and now your a speed crawler trying to keep up with the cats or trying to get to tigger before he stops bouncing, your first steps and how very careful you were and still are when your walking, hearing eh, yeah, mama, dada, hi are now the greatest sounds.  I will never ever forget how wonderful that sound of your first cry was though and how joyful of a room you were born into laughter and tears on everybody's faces (all the nurses, the doctor, aunt Laura as she cleaned you off, Grandma Margaret jumping up and down with joy, daddy and I speechless and in tears, Grandma Martha telling us the greatest sound from the room in the hallway was the cry).  Within this year you have given us so many tears of happiness, so much laughter, and shared so much joy.  We love you and are so grateful to have you as a daughter Zoey!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY ZOEY WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

11 months

Can you believe this we have an 11 month old... I feel like I was just holding her in my arms and snuggling with her.  Now if I try to snuggle with her it has to be right when she wakes up and it lasts for thirty seconds before she wants down so she can go find her toys.  This little stinker is able to take up to 5 steps before she decides to sit down and it only happens about once or twice a day.  Crawling is still faster than walking and that is for sure.  Zoey loves loves animals we have two cats one of the cats is her best friend while the other one is still terrified of her.  She loves watching them and playing with them.  Zoey now has 6 teeth the two on the bottom and the fourth teeth on top.  So it hurts now when she bites down watch out for your fingers and toes because she likes to bite down on them.  Also she is an amazing vacuum after you vacuum she finds the little things that the vacuum didn't pick up for you.  Zoey loves to dance she steps side to side and points her toes.  Zoey also knows how to say a couple of words like mom, dad, hi, yeah, and her favorite is eh (like the Canadians) this is how we find her when has crawled away from us we say eh and she responds.  It is such a joy to have this little girl in our lives and we can't believe that in less than a month she will be a year old.

Hopefully we will be able to get her to sleep throughout the night in the next year.

changes

The new year has come and with it we are going through a change...

Brandon no longer works nights yay!!! That is so nice to be sleeping next to my husband more than two nights a week even if he is a cover hog some nights... don't worry i'm developing some major skills on how to get them back.  Brandon just started student teaching on Monday he wakes up at 6 in the morning and is at the school at 7 until 3:30 and than he comes home to play and take care of miss Zoey while I'm at work.  I now come home to my hubby and cute little baby sleeping.  It is kind of hard because I use to put her to bed and now I just get to check on her no more two minutes of cuddling before putting her to bed.  But I'm so happy to be able to finally hopefully getting her more on a regular sleep schedule.  But for me I get less hours of sleep just because she goes to bed while I'm still at work and I don't get home until she has been asleep for almost two hours.  Making my mornings a different routine.  I didn't get on here to rant or rave just a new schedule and I kind of miss my family in the evenings more now than when I did when I went back to work. Just because I don't get to see my happy baby until the morning and I say goodbye to her at 1 in the afternoon.  Anyways...

Were in for a big change this is Brandon's last semester at BYU he will be graduating in April.  That is going to be so nice.  Than he will start looking for jobs as a special ed teacher hopefully we will find one locally.  But once he graduates he is going to go back up to USDC and work the morning shift while he finds a job.  So that is one happy good change this year.

Zoey is going to be 1 I can't believe it she still is my little tiny girl.  I took her to the doctor yesterday and guess how much she weighs 14 pounds 12 ounces and that was with her clothes on.  She loves to eat when her throat isn't killing her.  If you are about to put something in your mouth to eat it and she wants it she yells for you to stop so that you give her a bite and she happily chews it.  Her little throat is sore and she still wants to eat everything but she doesn't swallow so she starts to look like a chipmunk with her cheeks storing food.  It is quite funny until I do the finger sweep and she bites down with all 6 teeth to stop me.  You wouldn't know she was sick because she is still so happy and energetic playing with everything and anything.  the only thing that is different is she doesn't talk quite as much and the volume of her voice is not as loud.  Zoey also loves to dance she loves to sway from right to left when your holding her hands to stand but the best part is she picks up her foot and points it and than puts it down and repeats with the other one.  I just love this little girl oh so much!

Getting so Big

I can't believe it our little Zoey is going to be 8 months old this month.  I can't believe that 8 months ago I was holding our little girl in our arms and just cuddling with her.  Zoey is no longer content just hanging out in our arms for more than 2 minutes at a time.  Zoey has learned that there is so much to learn.  Like trying new foods she started eating solids in August starting with rice cereal, than she started getting the really yummy stuff avocados, peas, butternut squash, sweet potato, carrots.  My favorite face she has pulled was with beef and broth.  We have only given her that meat once because while it is one cute face it is also not fun to eat something you don't like.  Zoey has also been learning that she can roll over and sit up.  Zoey does so well with both she is now learning how to crawl she tries to just move being flat against the floor, than she does an amazing push up.  So she is getting there.  Zoey has also learned some sounds and when she cries she says "mama" it breaks my heart because she is crying but and the same time it is so sweet to hear "mama" come out of her mouth.  Zoey also has learned how to say "BA" I don't know what that is yet but she says it quite a bit.  For daddy she yells "ah" well you got to hear it but I think she thinks it means daddy.  Daddy and Zoey have "ah" yelling matches at each other and she gets the biggest smile when he "ah's" back at her.  I also was able to teach Zoey how to blow raspberries and it makes me laugh when she tries to blow raspberries on her toys.

First time in a cart

Can you believe this she is 7 months old and is growing up so quickly.  One day though I will be able to say that she sleeps through out the night she only gets up once through out the night and this is okay with me.  Every couple of days she will sleep through out the night but that is when I get the worse sleep because I wake up when she should wake up.  Well anyway Brandon and I are shopping for Halloween outfits no telling what we are going to be but we had fun looking today.  Well we were in Shopko and I just got done changing her and was going to put her back in the car seat. When she through a fit she sat straight up in her seat and clung onto the sides of the car seat. So I thought lets see how well she sits up in the cart. I moved the car seat and put her in it and as soon as she was sitting she was smiling.  Zoey did very well for her first time she clung onto the back with her little hands when she was feeling unsure that she could sit up.

I won't give up

I have decided on a new favorite song of mine it is by Jason Mraz I Won't Give Up.  It is the wedding song for this season apparently.  Well I got to say coming up on my little Lexy's birthday.  I'm so glad that I had a husband who stayed by my side when we lost our little girl and didn't give up on us being a family.

Today I was singing to Zoey and having a blast she was smiling and cooing while I was singing to her.  I didn't know it but Brandon was standing in the door way watching us.  I'm so happy to have my little family of four.  I can feel Lexy around when our family is having fun, going through hard times.  I felt her in the room this afternoon as I was playing with Zoey I could hear her laughter.

I have been feeling like that I haven't been the best mommy to Zoey for a couple of weeks because I have been sad about Lexy.  But I got the reminder through this song by Jason Mraz that I can't give up on being a great mommy to Zoey even if I'm sad.  I felt as I was having fun a greater feeling of joy and love that Lexy would want for us.

I'm hurting over Lexy but I know that she is with our Father in Heaven and He is watching over her and everyone who misses her.  I know that my little angel is so busy.  I know she is an angel of love you could feel the love that she gave us while she was with us on earth.  I know that she is there for anyone that needs comfort or a great laugh.

If you haven't heard the song by Jason Mraz here it is:

"I Won't Give Up"

Hmmmm ... Hmmmm ... Hmmmm ... Hmmm ...

When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
Well, there's so much they hold
And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?

Well, I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find

'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We've got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No, I won't give up

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use
The tools and gifts we got yeah, we got a lot at stake
And in the end, you're still my friend at least we did intend
For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I've got, and what I'm not
And who I am

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
Still looking up.

I won't give up on us (no I'm not giving up)
God knows I'm tough enough (I am tough, I am loved)
We've got a lot to learn (we're alive, we are loved)
God knows we're worth it (and we're worth it)

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

I love my little Lexy and my Zoey bug so much and am so grateful to be a mother and to have been trusted with two wonderful little spirits to be a mother to.

"'Cause even the stars they burn Some even fall to the earth We've got a lot to learn God knows we're worth it"

love being a mom

this morning as i was playing with Zoey I couldn't help to remember that this was the day that i jumped for joy and cried at the same time a year ago.  i was pregnant we were pregnant again.  the next day i had the doctors appointment and than a week later an ultrasound for the pregnancy where we got to watch the cell divide.  I now have a baby who is trying to learn how to blow a raspberry, smiles, coos, and laughs.  I love her with all my heart and a little bit more everyday she reminds me of her sweet big sister Lexy and everyday i feel the love of being a mother times two.  I can't wait for the day that i will be able to teach Lexy everything that I'm teaching her little sister Zoey.  But for right now i get to love on my beautiful daughter Zoey and love her daddy to the moon and back.  I love our little family and I couldn't imagine anything else better.

two girls

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

I love being a mom to this little girl she taught me so much in such a short time.  Lexy taught me a mothers love the second I saw her.   Lexy will always be the oldest sibling and watch over her little sister.  I love her and I'm so grateful to have her as my daughter.

I love being a mom to Lexy's little sister Zoey!  Zoey is teaching me so much about how to be a mommy.  It is hard work but it is so worth it when you see the smiles and the coos at midnight or 4am.

Zoey's 2 week check up!

Zoey and I set off on an adventure today.  We had to go to Pleasant Grove for her two week check up.  We got to the doctors office early so that we could be ready for our actual appointment time.  The nurse had me undress little Zoey.  I have learned something this last week you don't let this girl go a minute after cleaning her bum without another diaper in the reach of you.  So I put on another clean diaper before the nurse goes to weigh her.  I follow and as soon as we get there she fills the pants.  Yes, I know what my daughters routine is.  The nurse weighs her and she is 5 pounds 8 ounces.  We head back into the little doctors office room.  I go to start cleaning her bum and I didn't have a clean diaper near me and guess what my little girl does?  Zoey peed all over the doctors office on the floor, on the patient bed/chair.  All after the final measure of her.  Last week she was 19 and a 1/2 now she is 19 so I'm going to stick with around 19 inches long.

Other fun facts about our little miss Zoey:
she lost her umbilical cord on Friday 3/2/2012
she gets up 3 to 4 times a night
she is a little piglet she loves to eat and you have to watch her closely to how much she over eats
she is very content when she is awake she just sits and watches you.
she looked at the pictures of LOVE YOU FOREVER while mommy cried reading it to her
she weighs 5 pounds 8 ounces and at birth she weighed 5 pounds 3 ounces
she makes noises while she sleeps like humming

and I thought I would share some photos of little miss Zoey's Birth.  Thank you to my best friend Janine for taking them they are truly amazing!

Couldn't Resist

Isn't she just a doll? We just love her so much.  Zoey is an absolute joy and we just love having her in our family. What she loves doing daily right now is: Eating, Sleeping, Diaper Changes, and Loves bath time.   What do the cats think of her oh she is just another tiny human being they are curious but not that curious they will be in a couple of months when she is crawling and chasing them.  For right now Baylee is your typical male she starts crying he gets up and leaves the room.  Keke however just watches her cry.

Well I'm off to cuddle our little sweetie pie!

Zoey's Birth Story

We found out on July 7, 2011 that we were pregnant and we were so excited.  We waited 37 weeks to meet little miss Zoey.  But not without some bumps along the way.  We had tons of doctors appointments we saw you in an ultrasound 5 plus times.  Every time we got to see you was wonderful.  We had some hospital visits once when mom caught a viral infection and had to go get fluids pumped back in.  That was wonderful because we got to listen to your heart beat for an hour.  We also got to hear you thump the monitors with your little feet.  We than had Non-stress tests with you the last couple of weeks you were in mommy.  Mommy went with Grandma Margaret to a Non-stress test the week you were born and they were worried about your little heart beat.  So they admitted me to the hospital for a 24 hours of monitoring your heart beat.  Mommy got worried and stayed an extra day because I didn't want to go home and have something go wrong.  Mommy and Daddy prayed that you would be healthy if they needed to deliver you early.  Mommy got a strong feeling while she was praying that everything was going to be okay.  Mommy got the steroid shots to help your lungs develop faster if in case they induced me at 36 weeks.  We went to Grandma and Papa Heaps house for the week before you were born.  We had doctor appointments every day.  Every other day we got to listen to your heart beat and the last Perinatologist that we saw called Dr. Willis and told him bring this little girl into the world on Monday February 20 and do no amino test.
Monday morning at 6am Hubby and I woke up to get ready by 7:00am to be at the American Fork Hospital.  We got to the hospital parking lot at 7 and made it up to labor and delivery before 7:05am.  We asked for room number 4 because this room is the room that has so many windows to look out and it is very bright and that is the room we wanted to welcome our little girl into the world.  Mom got her IV and everything else hooked up to her before 7:30am.  Dr. Willis came in at 7:40 and by 7:45 my bag of waters had been broken.  Zoey didn't like it at all her little heart beat went high.  But hey mine would to if all of sudden all the liquid I had been in was all of a sudden draining out.  Zoey got probed in the head with the monitors so that I wouldn't have to have the one on the belly.  I asked for the epidural as soon as I could get it.  Aunt Laura was the first one to show up she brought mommy and daddy a goody bag of treats.  Grandma Margaret was the next one to show up.  Than a couple of minutes later the nice guy who takes away all the pain showed up to give me an epidural.  By 9:00am we were rolling on with labor.  Than mommy's best friend Janine showed up to take pictures of this very memorable day.  We had a wonderful morning full of talking and laughter.  I would look at the monitor when I was having a contraction and say Mommy it really hurts, or that was a big one.  We joked about how the monitors in your head were anchoring you down because you loved to be head up in mommy and if you were to go head up we would just start pulling on the monitors.  By 12:30ish mom was dilated to a 5 so everything starts going faster after getting to a 5.  At 1:30pm the nurse came in to check me I was dilated to an 8.  By the time she got back down to the desk I called her back in to the room I was feeling pressure.  My mom and sister had me call her back because I wasn't sure if that was the right pressure I should be feeling.  The nurse checked me again at 1:40 had me do a practice push.  Than she said stop I have ears.  Zoey was already to come.  They went to call Dr. Willis and he said he was 15 minutes away.  (later he told me that he was debating about going to the staff meeting at the other office so he went because he thought he had time)  I had to hold you in until Dr. Willis got there he showed up at 2:05 he was going to come over and talk to me when the all the nurses told him we don't have time you need to gown up and put on your gloves.  (all the nurses were in the room because I picked their biggest room and they were being trained on the new warming device plus they all knew my story of little Lexy).  My sister Laura had asked if she could help deliver her niece Brandon told her that she could so she went and asked Dr. Willis if she could help he said gown up and you can stand right here and help clean her off.  I was than able to push I felt the need to push and my nurse had me start to breath and before I knew it my nurse was laughing hysterically she couldn't breath she was bending over with so much laughter.  Finally she got it together and at 2:09 Zoey had entered this world it took a total of 3 pushes to bring you into this world.  Zoey weighed 5 pounds 3 ounces and was 17 1/2 inches long.  Less than a minute later we heard your cry and than everyone started to cry.  I couldn't wait to see you and have you in my arms.  You were and are beautiful.  You were put on my skin and you put your little legs up stuck your butt up and looked like a little frog.  You looked up at me and my heart melted. All the nurses in the room were crying Grandma Margaret was doing her little jig.  Grandma Waite was out in the hallway and said it was wonderful to hear your cry.  Janine had taken pictures of you entering this world and captured the special moment.
I can't believe that Zoey is now 8 days old and is healthy.  We love her so much and are grateful to have her in our family.

Welcome Life!

the meaning of life: ZOEY MARGARET WAITE!

We were blessed to have our little girl join our family on Monday 2/20/2012 at 2:09pm.  My hubby and I cried when we heard her cry.  The sound that we had been waiting for was music to our ears!
